Session Dates:
Winter: January 22, 29, Feb. 5, 12, 19, 26 (6 sessions)
Spring: March 4, 25, April 1, 15, 22, 29 (6 sessions)
Refund Policy: A full refund will only be issued if a member withdraws prior to the first day of class. If a member withdraws from the program once classes have begun, NO REFUND will be issued. Memberships are non-refundable. Make up classes only with doctor’s bill due to limited pool space and safety issues. Make up classes scheduled by instructor, not Y office.
*Each session consists of 6-30 minute lessons.

| Swimming is a life time skill and learning to swim properly does not occur in 6 lessons. Each child progresses differently and repetition of skills is needed to develop true swim strokes. Look on line or call 732-257-4114 for late spring / summer schedule in April. |

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Parent/Tot (3-4 Years)
A group swim lesson for parents to work with their child in the water. Great for youngsters and for parents who want to be involved with learning to teach their child to swim. Class promotes water adjustment and play to reinforce skills. |

Pike -3-5 years
-beginner and non swimmers -no pre-skills required |
Eel (pre-skills)
-3-5 years -gets face wet comfortably -can back float on own |

Ray (pre-skills)
-submerges comfortably -floats without assistance - can paddle stroke and rhythmic breath with bubble for 25 yards -jumps from side of pool and swims without bubble |
Polliwog (1 & 2)
-(1) beginner swimmer -(2) can swim width of pool with bubble and face in water |

Guppy
-can swim on own without assistance -submerges comfortably -gets face wet comfortably - can back float on own |
Minnow
-Must be able to swim front crawl with rotary breathing -Must be able to swim in deep water -Can swim back crawl for 25 yards -Able to tread water for 2 minutes -Survival float for 3 minutes |

Fish
-Swim front & back crawl 50 yards -Elementary back stroke 25 yards -Endurance swim for 150 yards without stopping -Tread water 4 minutes -Survival float 5 minutes |
| Swim School: A one hour class where youth and teens with advanced skills will swim multiple laps of front crawl, backstroke and breaststroke. The class focuses on building endurance, perfecting strokes, and learning advanced skills in a pre swim team style. Children must come to class knowing how to swim all of the above strokes and have no fear of deep water. |

Special Needs Lessons for the Beginner: Lessons for the special needs child in small groups. The instructor will work with each child to gain comfort in the water and introductory swim skills. |
| Adult Lap/Stroke Swim: Participants will be given a stroke workout that will promote distance, endurance, and technique. Class is for those who already swim. No lessons |

Teen/Adult Swim Lessons: Class is for those with limited ability who are unable to float or swim. We will work to reduce fears and develop comfort in the water. Skills taught include front and back floats, arm strokes. Also, breathing and water safety skills. |
| Water Exercise: Low impact aerobic workout in shallow water that improves cardiovascular fitness combined with exercises that increase strength, flexibility, and balance. No swimming skills needed. |
